Smart Search Chips is built to keep search data local by default. This policy explains what is collected by the plugin, what Freemius handles, and what stays inside your WordPress database.

1. What We Collect
Smart Search Chips collects minimal data. Here is exactly what is collected and when:
Free Version (with opt-in)
If you opt in during plugin activation, Freemius (our licensing partner) collects basic diagnostic data: WordPress version, PHP version, plugin version, site URL, and admin email. This helps us understand compatibility and prioritize development. You can opt out at any time from the plugin settings.
Pro Version
Pro users are connected to Freemius for license validation. Freemius collects account information (name, email) and site data necessary for license management. The Pro analytics feature tracks search queries and chip clicks on your site. This data is stored in your own WordPress database and is never sent to us or any third party.
This Website
This website loads the Google tag in consent mode with ads and analytics storage denied by default. If you accept cookies in the cookie preferences dialog, Google Ads measurement is updated to granted. If you reject cookies, consent remains denied and the site remains fully usable.
2. How We Use Data
Diagnostic data (when opted in) is used solely to improve plugin compatibility and development priorities. Website ads measurement, when accepted, is used to understand whether marketing visits lead to product interest. We do not sell or rent your data, except as required by Freemius for payment processing and license management or by Google Ads for consent-mode and consented ads measurement.
3. Third-Party Services
The Plugin uses Freemius for licensing, payments, and optional diagnostics. Freemius processes data under their own privacy policy. This website uses Google Ads consent mode for ads measurement. No other third-party services receive data from the Plugin.
4. Data Retention
Diagnostic data is retained by Freemius for as long as the plugin is active. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us or through the Freemius opt-out mechanism in the plugin. Pro analytics data is stored locally in your WordPress database and is deleted when you uninstall the plugin. Website cookie preferences are stored in your browser. Google Ads measurement data is handled according to Google's retention and privacy policies.
5. Your Rights
You may opt out of diagnostics at any time, reject website ads measurement in the cookie preferences dialog or Cookie settings footer control, request access to your data, or request deletion by emailing support@smartsearchchips.app.
